In the Famous Words of Captain Crawfish, “Whoa, Nelly!”

Awhile ago, Captain Crawfish said “whoa, nelly” to something that wasn’t that amazing.  Well, here’s something that actually is deserving in the “whoa, nelly” department.

Trapped in the closet?

We can admit that we’re not perfect. One thing Poptropica is missing right now is an easy way to save the best costumes that you’ve put together. With Poptropica Friends, that will no longer be the case!

Another new feature with Poptropica Friends is the Costume Closet, which allows Members to store up to 30 unique costumes at a time. Not only that, but you can look through your friends’ closets and borrow their best costume ideas, as well.

There you have it! The days of putting together a spectacular costume and then having to get rid of it are almost over.

So confused.  In the first part of the post, Captain Crawfish makes it sound like everyone gets the costume closet, but then, toward the end of the post, he makes it sound like only Members get it.  Someone help me figure it out!

Every Moment, of Every Day, Forever…

… They will all watch you. THERE’S A 24-HOUR CAMERA TRAILING YOU. D: Watching your every move, slowly clicking away in the corner, and letting the whole world of Poptropica see what you did. Or what you didn’t do. Either way, it knows.

Your number 1 album

One of the new features that will be coming with Poptropica Friends is the photo album. It’s like your own virtual scrapbook of your adventures through Poptropica!
By playing through Islands, you’ll occasionally see a message that says “New Photo Added” when you get to an important part of the story. Then, when you visit your photo album, you’ll see snapshots showing you a new perspective of your character’s feats. Every Island has about four different photos. There are over 100 in total!
Even better: every time you earn a new photo, the outfit you were wearing at the time is recorded in the picture. Even if you change clothes, you can costumize from your photos later!
Wait, there’s more! If you’re looking through a friend’s photo album, you can costumize off of them, too. It’s like the number of possible costumes just went to infinity!

😮 Do you see that? They’ll ALL be able to see what you did do. Or what you didn’t do. Which is worse? If you get an embarrassing picture in an island, or if you don’t have any pictures because you didn’t finish an island?

Wow, Creators, As If We Didn’t Know That Already…

So, once again, the Creators did a post about something that we already knew about.  Okay, so yeah, I hope you do already know about this after I just said that.

Seismic activity

You already know that Poptropica Friends will let you stay informed about what your friends are doing in Poptropica. What you might not know is how easy that’s going to be!

Presenting the Recent Activity feed! You’ll see this little box whenever you return to Poptropica, and it will show you the most up-to-date things your friends have been doing in Poptropica. You’ll see when your friend has earned a photo, beaten an Island, saved a new costume, or answered a Pop Quiz. You can click through to see their full profile, or just flip through the feed to see what everyone is up to.

There’s a lot more coming with Poptropica Friends. We’re looking forward to sharing it with you!

If you didn’t know that, well…you’re not in the dark anymore.  So I guess since the Creators might have helped them, I can’t really say that they don’t ever help.  I’ll just say that they possibly don’t ever help.

Showing Off Something That Ain’t That Amazing

Yeah, so somehow Captain Crawfish thinks that beating all the islands is a huge accomplishment, when most people I know have beat all the islands.  Whatever, Captain Crawfish, keep dreaming.

Going for the gold

Playing through an Island on Poptropica gets you many rewards. Besides the satisfaction of a job well done, you’ll also earn a gold medallion that you can wear to show off your accomplishment. But how many of you have been able to pull this off?

Medallions for every Island! Whoa, nelly. That’s worth bragging about. Soon it’ll be easier to show off an achievement like this.

One of the great things about Poptropica Friends is that you’ll be able to see what medallions your friends have earned, and they’ll be able to see the same for you. You’ll even be able to show off how many times you’ve beaten each Island, by using Island Restart.

Poptropica Friends is launching soon. There’s no better time than the present to start adding to your medallion total, before all your friends can see!

Um, just a few things.  First, if you look really closely at the picture under the menu that says “What’s New”, you’ll see that the last big thing that the person did was beat Skullduggery.  Finish the island just for the picture, Captain Crawfish?  If that is your account, that is…

And secondly, hold on.  I forgot what secondly was…  Hold the phone, peeps!

…Oh, okay, I remember now.  Doesn’t that Poptropican look a little familiar?  Like the Poptropican from the post that the Creators did telling that their fail of an April Fool’s joke was actually a joke?

And how about the Poptropican in the post about the three powers that you use in Twisted Thicket Island?

That Poptropican, Friendly Bug, has been in both of those posts.  And now this one.  And Captain Crawfish has done all three of those posts.  Is it just me, or does that seems like more than a coincidence?

Now, excuse me while I’m off to find out more clues for the case of Friendly Bug.

Early Poptropica Island Guide

I recently finished a video guide for Early Poptropica!  And now I’m posting the video!

Anyway, the video is below.  It will also be on the Video Guides page along with some other guides.  Make sure you check it out!

P.S. Believe it or not I actually managed to fit it all in one video!

Surfin’ with Polly

Okay, yeah, I know, horrible title.  But I’d like to see you try and think of a better one.  Well, actually, don’t.  It would probably only make me depressed.

Anyway, there’s a new ad in Poptropica.  But don’t get too excited.  It’s only for Polly Pockets.

Okay so, here’s what you have to do in the ad.  Walk all the way to the right until you see some guy named Rick.

Talk to Rick and he’ll ask you if you want to catch some waves.  You’ll tell him that sounds like fun.  And off you go.

Here are the instructions that the ad gives you:

Hold it!  There’s one important NOT thing that you have to do before you begin.  And that is this:

How could we have almost forgotten that?

Basically all you have to do is what the instructions tell you.  And that is just to click to jump.  It really isn’t that hard.

When you’re done, you get two prizes.

Just so you know, the power thing is really weird.  And the costume…well, it’s ugly.

Pop Picture Contest #7

Edit: Congratulations to Golden Fire for guessing correctly!  The sign is from Spy Island.  Check out the Pop Picture Contest page to see where Golden Fire’s name is mentioned.  There’s also a link to her awesome blog there!

A hint: yet another sign.

So, yeah, I needed a new way to introduce these posts, so I figured that I would just show you the picture first, and then talk.  Yeah, I know, major change.  But that was all I could think of to do differently.

So yeah.  There’s your picture and a hint.  If you don’t already know about the Pop Picture Contests, just go to the Pop Picture Contest page.

Good luck!

Twisted Thicket Island Guide

Icy Comet’s Blog now has a guide for Twisted Thicket Island!  Click HERE to see it.

The guide was done by none other than moi, Icy Comet.  So yeah, just make sure you know that when you’re thinking about how awesome it is.

Also, you can go to the Guides page to see other great guides for any island that you are having trouble with.  Or, you can go to the Video Guides page to see some video/slideshow guides.

There’s also, of course, the descriptions of the island and the members-only bonus quest.  Here’s the description of the island:

Here’s what the picture says: Once every 100 years, the ancient capital of Poptropica — Poptropolis — rises from the sea to host a tournament created to prove tribal supremacy.  Each of the tribes of Poptropica sends a representative to compete across a series of grueling events for a chance to become the Champion of Poptropica.  Do you have what it takes to vanquish the competition and win glory for your tribe?

Here’s the description of the members-only bonus quest:

As always, well not always, more like as recently, members get a special gear pack.

As the picture says, the special items that members get are a Wrestling Singlet costume, Plat-a-Statue power, and Discus item.
