Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #18

The last time I did a post on sneak peeks from Daily Pop was in September.  So it goes without saying that I have a lot to talk about.  So, I think I’m going to skip trying to think of a good introduction and go straight to the sneak peeks.  That will save me time…and I won’t have to try and think of a good way to open this post.  I’ve already failed at that.

Dry Dock- At last, your ship has come in.

I’m guessing that this might be something from a city-themed island.  It just looks like something that would fit in a big city.  Or maybe it’s something from a sea-themed island.  Who knows?  It might be from Zomberry Island, but I’m not sure.

Wok Hard- Don’t look too closely at the menu.

This is definitely from Zomberry Island.  It’s in one of the pictures on the info-page.

Bachelor Pad- An inviting residence for the young at heart.

This looks like it could maybe be a someone’s room in an island.  I’m not sure what kind of island it would be for, though.

Under Construction- We’re building a better island.

Obviously a construction site…  This is from Zomberry Island, as well.  It’s in the downloadable desktop wallpaper from the info-page.

What Four- Some possibilities for the design of a new character.

According to the caption, it’s a sketch for the design of a new character.  I’m not sure which one a like the best.  It’s weird, but, in one way, they’re really alike, and, in another way, they’re really different.  I guess it would depend on what kind of a character it’s for.

Emergency Exit- They didn’t drill for this calamity.

I’m guessing that this is from Zomberry Island as well.  It fits in with the sort of chaotic/panicky feel that the island has.  If it’s not from Zomberry Island, then it might be from some other sort of city-themed island.  I’m not sure what else to think about it, except that I sure am sorry for whoever was in that schoolbus.

Green Glow- The secret is: there’s no secret of the ooze.

I’m not sure what to think about this one.  It looks like it might be from a city-themed island.  It could possibly be from Zomberry Island.  If it is, than it looks like it would be in around the same area as the schoolbus.

Home Sweet Home- Nothing like a cozy unliving room.

It looks like a room from someone’s house or apartment.  Not sure what kind of island it could be for, but whoever lives in that place sure must like science.

Bunk- Perhaps you, too, will love the 90s.

Hmm…  Maybe, cause the caption says “Perhaps, you, too will love the 90s”, maybe that means that you travel back in time to the 90s?  Or, that could be a room that was decorated in the 90s and was never changed.  Neither of those sound very likely, but you never know.

Magic Machine- This thing will wake you up in the morning.

I’m not sure what this thing is…  It looks like some kind of weird, crazy, giant coffee machine.

Be a Star- It’s time for you to take center stage.

…Nice disco ball… *cough*  Anyway, it looks like maybe this could be a common room for an island.  It just has a typical-common-room sort of feel to it.  But, of course, it could be something completely different.  And it probably is, considering I’m never right about these things…

Traffic Jam- Looks like we took a wrong turn.

This looks like it could be either from Zomberry Island or some other city-themed island.  Whatever it’s from, I sure am sorry for that city.  First they have a schoolbus-wreck, then they have a bunch of green ooze spilling all over the place, and now they have yet another wreck with oil spilling all over the place.

Power Load- Just watch me explode!

This looks like a control panel for maybe some kind of machinery.  It might be from Zomberry Island, considering that there’s a construction site there.  Whatever it is, I have a feeling we are going to be up high, judging by the post-it-note that says “Don’t Look Down”.  Just what a person who’s scared to death of heights has always dreamed of.  I just thought of this, but doesn’t that guy look sort of like Joe Puddy from the comics about Zomberry Island?

The Bungalow-Down- Real estate prices have been plummeting around here.

It looks like someone’s house.  I think it’s almost definitely from Zomberry Island.  You can tell by the background.

Can It- Yep, we’re making you paw through somebody’s trash again.

I don’t know where the Creators got the idea that we actually like going through garbage cans, but I’m getting pretty tired of it.  I think having to actually walk through the trash in Shrink Ray Island was the last straw…

Cast of Characters- You’ll meet them all on an upcoming island.

No idea what kind of island these characters could be from.  All I know is that the first two Poptropicans’ outfits are sort of…well…weird.  They might possibly be from Zomberry Island, but I don’t know.

Train in Vain- Go nowhere fast in this subway tunnel.

This might be from Zomberry Island, considering that it has graffiti all over the place, and that face on the subway looks kind of like a zombie, but I’m not sure…

Total Bunk- Front door’s locked up tight.

Definitely from Zomberry Island.  You can see it in one of the comics released by the Creators.

A Little Perspective- You’re the first person to see this view.

It looks like it is some sort of lab.  What for, I have no idea.  I can’t help but be reminded of Shrink Ray Island when I look at that microscope.  Hopefully, the Creators don’t have another island where we get shrunk by a baddie planned for us.

Harvest- There's a bad moon on the rise.

Harvest- There’s a bad moon on the rise.

I’m not sure what this could be from.  It looks like it could really be from anything…

Dorf Goes Driving- Curse these good for nothing imports.

Dorf Goes Driving- Curse these good for nothing imports.

This is obviously some sort of broken down car.  Maybe “Dorf” is the name of the car?  I’m not sure what kind of island it would be from, though.

Find My Phone- Where is my phone? Have you seen it?

Find My Phone- Where is my phone? Have you seen it?

It looks like some sort of website where you can find your lost phone.  Maybe in some island your Poptropican gets a cell phone and then goes and looses it.  Or maybe you have to find someone’s cell phone to get a clue on how to beat an island or something like that.

Trick or Treat- Unwrap something tasty this Halloween.

Trick or Treat- Unwrap something tasty this Halloween.

This is from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  It’s from the beginning of the island.  You can tell how far behind I am on the sneak peeks just by looking at this one. 😉

After Hours- Concept art for a brand-new island.

After Hours- Concept art for a brand-new island.

The way this is sketched makes it look like it’s going to be for some kind of sci-fi sort of island.  Maybe will be, maybe it won’t.

Squirrely- They'll go nuts if you mess with their stuff.

Squirrely- They’ll go nuts if you mess with their stuff.

This one is also from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  It’s sort of weird to look back and see sneak peeks and actually know what island they’re for instead of just having to guess.  It sort of takes the fun out of them.

Pail Imitation- What's for lunch?

Pail Imitation- What’s for lunch?

I’m going to take a wild guess and say that this is someone’s lunchbox.  😉  It looks like there’s a note underneath the banana, maybe that will be a clue in a future island.

Eau de Toilet- It's made with bits of real panther.

Eau de Toilet- It’s made with bits of real panther.

It looks like a perfume stand.  Just in case you don’t know, “eau de toilet” is french for “toilet water”.  Toilet water is like perfume, it’s not actually water from a toilet.  The sign looks like it says “eau de peur”, which means “water of fear”.  …Sort of weird isn’t it…

Mixed Fruits- They're always in season.

Mixed Fruits- They’re always in season.

This is definitely something from Zomberry Island.  Maybe you find this in the Berry Delicious Smoothie Shop.  Maybe it’s the smoothies that are turning all those fruit-crazy Poptropicans into zombies.

Waters Fall- This fountain rocks!

Waters Fall- This fountain rocks!

It is either a waterfall that looks like a fountain, or a fountain that looks like a waterfall.  Which makes no sense either way.  Those green things look like they’re either statues or bushes that have been trimmed to look like animals.  It looks like there’s an eagle or some other kind of bird, a deer, and a shark.

Sports Legends- Only the finest sports collectibles.

Sports Legends- Only the finest sports collectibles.

It looks like maybe some shelves from a store or something.  Not sure what kind of island it would be from, but if you like sports then you’re bound to like this!

UV Rays- You might as well be walking on the sun.

UV Rays- You might as well be walking on the sun.

This looks like a sketch for an island.  What kind of island, I have no idea.  Although it looks like it might be a clothing store…

The Land of Nod- There's no better place to catch forty winks.

The Land of Nod- There’s no better place to catch forty winks.

This one looks like it’s a sketch for an island, as well.  I don’t know what kind of an island this would be for, either.

Very Authentic- Don't ever settle for mostly authentic.

Very Authentic- Don’t ever settle for mostly authentic.

It looks like a Chinese restaurant.  Besides stating the very obvious fact, I can’t think of much else to say about this picture…except that I don’t know what to say about it.

Trendspotting- You'll find your outfits to be a very popular subject.

Trendspotting- You’ll find your outfits to be a very popular subject.

It looks like part of a clothing shop.  Maybe it’s either part of the same shop or mall as the store in the “UV Rays” sneak peek.

Pet Shop Boys- Go on safari for your next best friend.

Pet Shop Boys- Go on safari for your next best friend.

So, it looks like it’s part of a pet shop.  Maybe the next island is “mall island”.  Probably not, but it’s strange that there a bunch of store-themed sneak peeks.  I’m sort of worried about the case where the coral snake is supposed to be, though.  Either the snake has been sold, or it escaped.  The idea of an escaped snake isn’t the best thing in the world.

Take a Swing- Get in a few cuts down at the batting cage.

Take a Swing- Get in a few cuts down at the batting cage.

It looks like it’s from the same place as the “Sports Legend” sneak peek.  Maybe it’s part of the same store, or something.

Foliage Fest- Trees for all seasons.

Foliage Fest- Trees for all seasons.

Three trees and a garbage can.  Beautiful.  The caption says “trees for all seasons”.  I can’t help but wonder what season the garbage can would be for. 😉

The Blueprint- Perhaps a whiteprint is a more accurate term.

The Blueprint- Perhaps a whiteprint is a more accurate term.

This is a plan for one big building.  Very fancy.

Atrium- This is as classy as it gets, folks.

Atrium- This is as classy as it gets, folks.

It seems that, possibly, the blueprint above this is the outside of this mall.  Maybe the section that says “Chinese” is where the Chinese restaurant in the “Very Authentic” sneak peek goes.

The Red Door- What hides behind it?

The Red Door- What hides behind it?

These doors look like the doors to the fitting rooms in the “Trendspotting” sneak peek.  Except without the closed signs.  Maybe the fitting rooms lead to another, secret room?  Probably not, but still.

Pet Shop Boys- Caring for these creatures is a big responsibility.

Pet Shop Boys- Caring for these creatures is a big responsibility.

This looks like it’s part of the same store as the other “Pet Shop Boys” sneak peek.  There’s a skull above the sign.  A pet shop with a skull in it…odd.

Eating Good- We'll get you a couple of apps while you look over the menu.

Eating Good- We’ll get you a couple of apps while you look over the menu.

Is it just me, or does this restaurant look very much like an Applebee’s?  Even the name is sort of the same.  I’m not surprised, though, considering the Creators have advertised Poptropica through Applebee’s several times before.  I wonder what the “couple of apps” part of the description means.

The Champ is Here- Here in our memories, that is.

The Champ is Here- Here in our memories, that is.

This looks like it’s probably from the same sports themed store/place.  I think the thing on the left is a picture.  I have no idea what the thing on the right is, though.

Best of the Best- A Poptropica designer's work is never done.

Best of the Best- A Poptropica designer’s work is never done.

Looks like a bigger version of the pic above this one.  Without the thing on the right, of course.  I’m guessing that this is also part of the same sports themed store.

Inspect Your Gadget- You'll wonder how you ever lived without these handy, dandy devices.

Inspect Your Gadget- You’ll wonder how you ever lived without these handy, dandy devices.

This looks like a sketch for another store.  I’m not sure how how many of these devices I would use.  I could definitely use the flouride peanut butter.  After all, you can never have too healthy teeth.  The magnetic toothbrush isn’t the craziest gadget here, but I’d be worried about something getting on my toothbrush.  The alarm clock curling iron I could definitely use, cause I loose track of time very easily.  The fish bowl hat…I’d be scared a would tilt my head a little too far and the fish would fall…  If, for the shocking alarm pillow, they mean shock as in electricity, I wouldn’t want that.  My hair is frizzy enough as it is.  The pocket hibachi grill…I don’t even know what a hibachi grill is.  The voice-activated toilet paper is just weird.  And I still don’t know what to think about the R.C. Shower.

Fashion Plate- Try before you buy.

Fashion Plate- Try before you buy.

It looks like yet another store.  I think it might be part of the same store as the one in the “Trendpotting” sneak peek.

Whoopzie- Try not to gag on all of these gifts.

Whoopzie- Try not to gag on all of these gifts.

Looks like a sign and some posters for a joke gift shop.  A bunch of classic jokes with new names.

Le Pew- Eau, what's that smell?

Le Pew- Eau, what’s that smell?

It looks like a good version of the perfume stand in the earlier sneak peek.  Maybe the two stands are rivals…

Shop Smart- You'd better make it to the mall in time.

Shop Smart- You’d better make it to the mall in time.

It looks like this is the sign to the mall with all of the shops that we’ve been seeing.  The description makes me think that we’re going to have to get to the mall in a certain amount of time.  Just an idea.

To the Cloud- Float away to the land of nod.

To the Cloud- Float away to the land of nod.

It looks like this is part of the place that we saw in the “The Land of Nod” sneak peek.  I couldn’t tell what it was before, but now it looks like it’s a mattress shop, a bed shop, or both.  I can’t help but be reminded of The Princess and the Pea when I look at all the mattresses piled up like that.

Making Copies- For all your printing needs.

Making Copies- For all your printing needs.

Looks like a store where you can make copies and print things…and stuff…  That was pretty obvious.  The sign in the picture reminds me of FedEx’s logo with the two different colors in the name.

Well, that’s it.  It’s taken me awhile to do this post with all these sneak peeks.  I’m glad to be done.  😉  I hope you enjoyed it!  Just in case you’re confused, the captions under the pictures are the descriptions from Daily Pop.  The writing underneath that is what I thought of the picture.

Now that I’ve finished this, I’m going to start working on finishing that 24 Carrot Island video guide that I have worked on in forever.  I’ll also start working on doing a Pop Picture Contest sometime soon, so stay tuned!

Christmas is coming closer and closer, so here’s an early message!

Merry Christmas!

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #17

There have been a lot of really cool sneak peeks added to Daily Pop recently.  Some seem to be for the upcoming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory island, others look like they are for a possible city-themed island, and others I can’t figure out what they’re for.  So, let’s take a look at them!

Rollin On The River- Concept art for an upcoming action scene.

I think this might be for the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory island.  I never saw the movies or read the book, but isn’t there supposed to be a river scene?  Or maybe that was just my imagination.  But, I don’t know, this just seems to fit in with some previous sneak peeks for this island.

To The Podium- The star of the show, coming soon.

I think this one’s for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, as well.  Those colors seem to be Charlie-and-the-Chocolate-Factory-ish.

Go Nuts- But only go nuts inside the nut room, please.

Definitely Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  See the “W” above the sign and on the door?

When The Bough Breaks- It is totally delicious.

The broken branch looks like it could be the same broken branch as the one in the first sneak peek.  And also there are lollipops coming up out of the ground, so I’m going to have to say Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Silver Screen- It’s one of our favorite famous monsters of filmland.

Ah, thank you!  Finally something that’s not Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  I got tired of writing that.  Anyway, this looks like a movie theater.  The description says “one of our favorite famous monsters”.  The thing on the screen must be a monster.  So far the only monster I’ve thought of is Frankenstein.  But I don’t know if that would be it…

Go Nuts- Nothing out of the ordinary here, no sir.

Hmm….  I don’t know what to think about this one.  It looks like the completed version of a previous sneak peek (see this post).  It looks like it belongs in the city-themed island, but why would it have the same name as one of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory sneak peeks?  Is that a glitch or mistake, or is that supposed to be some kind of a hint?  Ugh, the suspense is killing me!

Disco Inferno- Simmer down now.

I think this is either for a new character or for a costume.  If it’s for a costume, I think I would like the one on the left best.  Although, I could definitely see my Poptropican wearing the one on the right’s headphones.

Containment- If it fits, it ships.

This might be for the city-themed island.  Or it might be for something else.  It’s hard to tell.

Smooth Move- You’ll be berry glad you came.

I’m guessing that this one’s for the city-themed island.  Although, I couldn’t  help but be reminded of Strawberry Shortcake when I read the “The Berry Delicious Smoothie Shop” sign in the picture and the “You’ll be berry glad you came” description.  At the top of the picture there’s a sign that says “M something Corp”, I couldn’t read the middle part of the sign.  I don’t know, but it seems like the city-themed island has a lot to do with food, so that makes me think that maybe, possibly, the city-themed island and the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory island might be the same.  Or at least maybe related.  Of course that’s just a guess.  I don’t know if there’s a city in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or not.

Apartment Hunter- Is this your home, sweet home?

This one looks like a room that we might see in future islands.  It’s hard to say what kind of island I think this would be for.  It could really be in any island.

Well, that’s it!  Hope you enjoyed looking at these sneak peeks, and I hope my little comments didn’t bore you too much! 😉  See ya later!

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #16

It’s time for another Daily Pop Sneak Peeks!  …Well, since I can’t think of anything to say, let’s just go ahead and get started!

Aw, Nuts- Nuts of all shapes and sizes!

TV Party- We’ve got nothing better to do…

Pull My Leg- This is looking like a wheel of misfortune.

A-Maze-Ing- The magistrate made it all the way to the end, but can you?

Camera Shy- It almost looks like an alien invader.

Dogfight- Never in the history of chocolate have so many owed so much to so few.

Panel Discussion- Best be sure before you press that button.

Breakdown- Looks like a bad neighborhood.

Main Squeeze- Get ready to be put through the ringer.

Deep Scan- The Ego has landed.

Deep and Dark- There’s nothing sweet about this dangerous place.

Sleep Now- Now let’s get out of this gas-filled hallway before we all suffocate.

In Outline- We only need the broad strokes when laying out scenes.

Cup of Joe- I like my coffee like I like my comedy: black.

Awesome!  It seems like there are so many amazing islands about to come out!  I can’t wait! 😀

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #15

It’s been over two months since I last did a Daily Pop Sneak Peeks post.  Sorry about that, you guys!  I really need to get more regular about this.

So anyway, you’ve probably seen some of these sneak peeks before, and, for some of them, the island has already come out that they were for.  But, you’re going to see them anyway.

So, the pictures are below, and, underneath the pictures, there are the descriptions from Daily Pop.

Fireside Chat- This room is going down in flames.

Book Nook- Who told you that reading is for wimps?

No No Nano- Don’t be a pain in the bot.

Night Watch- It’s no small decision to take the black.

Beat Happening- Let’s add a little slapback delay.

Finders Keepers- Welcome to a jewel of a common room.

Fire Works- Have a spectacular Fourth of July.

Perchance to Dream- Settle in for a nice, long nap.

Precious Memories- A memento of a happier time.

Starstruck- This guy is a big deal, but he might be over your head.

Skeletal- Sometimes a quick pencil sketch can show the bones of an idea.

Combo Breaker- It’s robot madness!

Door of Perception- Open this door, and perhaps open your mind.

Squirrely- We don’t imagine there’s a moose anywhere around here.

Fruity- The juice is loose!

Swing Set- Rock yourself to sleep against the waves.

The Cube-Est- Sometimes it takes a visionary to shake things up.

Lillies- There’s no need to moan, eh?

Drill Down- You can really build up an appetite out here.

Complete Control- The brains of the operation.

Free and Clear- Well, not exactly free.

Starry Night- Art imitates art.

Off the Grid- Making a mini-game schematic.

Ramshackle- Life among the underclass.

Oh, Fudge- Who is this great big greedy nincompoop?

Dig Safe- Time to get down and dirty.

Kingdom Come- There is a castle in the clouds.

Cliff Notes- Watch your step.

Art Attack- No one respects true art anymore.

The Big Sleep- A pirate just can’t get any rest around here.

Underground- As above, so below.

Cannonball- Time to make a real splash.

Nuts to That- Maybe you can help someone come out of their shell.

Flash- ‘Twas a dark and stormy night.

Out There- Chaos reigns.

Time to Punch In- This place will set factory records.

Mail Call- We can fix these letters in post production.

Time Stamp- For all we know, it could be time to get ill.

Divine Invention- When this machine drops gum, its gum drops hard.

Pay No Mind- It’s free to drop in.

Litterbugs- Who’d trash a nice sidewalk like this?

Breaking News- Much more on this story as it develops.

Well, that’s it for now.  Some of these look pretty cool!  I can’t wait to see what new islands are coming out!

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #14

It’s been over a month since I’ve done a post about sneak peeks from Daily Pop.  Any particular reason for that?  Yep, there’s one amazing reason for me not posting about the sneak peeks for such a long time.  I forgot about it.  😉

Anyway, here are the sneak peeks!

Transmission- But what does it mean?

Precious Memories- And memories may be all that are left.

Decode- This isn’t just a random pattern.

Arcade Action- Are you a bad enough dude to file an amicus brief?

Mission Control- We’ve got a problem in every sense of the word.

Rings Around the World- See if you can toss off a victory.

Splish Splash- Gunning for a win on a hot summer’s day.

Sands of Time- Who knows what treasures might be hiding under the scorching sands?

Batter Up!- Dazzle him with the off-speed stuff.

Play and Win- You can take your prize and stuff it.

Under the Boardwalk- Also on and around the boardwalk.

Slide Rule- Everybody loves the twisty slide.

Board Meeting- Planking, the hot new trend this summer.

Blinded By the Light- Tag, you’re it.

Full Blast- Better strap in for the laser show.

What Lies Beneath- Some soda cans, it looks like.

Doctor Claw- Nothing a little elbow grease couldn’t fix.

Spilled Milk- Don’t cry over it.

Loose Booth- None of this stuff looks in very good shape.

The Pits- This fun house is raw power.

Photo Op- There’s no better way to remember your trip to the beach.

Metal Man- There’s gold in them there dunes.

Crate Box- There’s gold in them there chests.

Trash Day- There’s gold in them there garbage cans.

Crabby- Anybody would be a little grumpy with 4,000 volts through it.

Eye See You- Only a thunder volt could stop this guy.

Pain in the Bot- Only a nanobot could get in the groove in the here.

The Buzz- Let’s have no honey business.

Dreams Take Wing- Send me an angel.

Pathfound- The end of a long and winding road.

Well, that’s all of the sneak peeks for now.  Hopefully we’ll get more sneak peeks soon, and we’ll find out what some of these sneak peeks are for.  😀

P.S. Ever notice how when you say my Poptropican’s initials (IC), it sounds like my Poptropican’s first name (Icy)?  Just sayin’.

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #13

Ah, yes, time yet again for another session of daily pop sneak peeks.

Let’s just go ahead and get this over with.

Anyway, the captions that are underneath the pictures are the captions from Daily Pop.  And you probably already knew that, but, whatever.  What do I care what you know?

Just kidding!  I do care…a little bit.  😉

Battle Plan- It’s hard to pin your opponent down on this one.

Sketchy Characters- Trying a few approaches to some upcoming characters.

Wild Fire- Which one burns brightest?

The Final Frontier- Poptropica is about to go boldly where some have gone before.

Far Out- Where it came from, no one knows.

Hyperspeed- We’re going to infinity. But not beyond. That’s impossible.

Lockout- How’s the air up there?

Infirmary- This way to the sick bay.

Ladies and Gentlemen- We are floating in space.

Bot Kickers- A tiny size, but they pack a punch.

Fetch, Rover- The fastest thing on four wheels.

Pase Yourself- Because once this building’s gone, it’s gone.

Honeycomb Engine- Let’s take this one from the top.

Rocket Man- Try to keep from burning out your fuel up here alone.

Spaced- Your turn to meet a real, live astronaut!

In the Dock of the Bay- You light up this rover’s life.

Pit Boss- From here, you are master and commander.

Elevated Lifestyle- Run hard every day to prevent muscle loss.

Pop Rise- Oh, you pale blue dot. You blue marble.

Small Beginnings- This was our very first attempt at designing your Friends Profile Page.

Not What You Own- Merchandise. The Final Frontier.

Eagle is Landing- Set that bird down nice and soft.

Photo Finish- Snapshots of happier times.

Hazards Ahead- Watch out for falling rocks!

Ramping Up- Retire in style at Shady Pines.

Well, that’s it for now.  Now don’t think that I’m crazy when I say this, but I think the next island is about space.  Yep.  I know, can’t believe I just said that.  So weird that those pictures would make me think of space, right?

(That was sarcasm.  Just in case you’re wondering.)

And then the island after the space one is going to be about a retirement home…exciting.  Not.

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #12

Here we are again, at the beginning of another post about all those sneak peeks in Daily Pop.  For you, this means reading a post for a few minutes, wondering what the next island might be, and then going about the rest of your business.  For me, this means the long process of taking pictures of the pictures on Daily Pop, saving them, uploading them, writing the captions from Daily Pop, and writing my own thoughts about each picture.  Fun.

Anyway, let’s begin so I can get this over as fast as possible you can see all the new sneak peeks right away.

Planet Rock- There's more in earth and heaven than is dreamed of in your philosophy.

A giant rock that looks like Saturn.  Well, all I can say is that I’m confused.

Try a Trident- We're not talking about anything you can chew on.

A statue who thinks that it can throw a trident, even though it can’t move.  Sure.  Okay probably not, but that’s the best I could come up with.  Anyway, what’s with the horrible joke?  Trident like the gum and trident like the pitchfork thing the statue is holding in the picture.  Come on, Creators, you can thing of something better than that.

Gram Cracker- The metric system is out of order.

Metric system=math.  😯  I don’t like this island already.

Atlas Shrugged- No need to carry the world on your shoulders.

Another Mythology Island, except this time with Titans instead of gods?  It could happen.  Maybe.

A Climb-Matic Scene- We do like the occasional wordplay around here.

A scene where you have to climb right at the climax of Twisted Thicket Island.  Simple.  Next picture!

The Distance in Your Eyes- Victory is a hop, skip, and a jump away.

A hundred-and-thirty meter dash where instead of running you have to hop, skip, and jump to the finish line.  Didn’t take too long to figure that one out.

Three Cheers- Actually, that looks like more than three.

Boat races where instead of racing canoes, or whatever they are, you race big boats.  Who knows?  Anything’s possible.

City Limits- An old-time town is about to return.

Mythology Island is coming back, but this time it’s going to be called Poptropolis!  Maybe?  Just maybe?

Balloon Boy- No, you won't recognize anybody in one of these hot-air balloons.

Balloons are coming back, but Balloon Boy isn’t.  Or is he?

Sting Operation- Here's one iconic-looking insect.

I hope that this guy is a friend.

Anyway, that’s all for now.  I hope that you appreciate how long it took for me to do this post.  😉

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #11

Here we go again, time for more sneak peeks from Daily Pop that leave you in suspense and wondering what on earth the next island might be.  Anyway, just like last time, I’m going to have the picture from Daily Pop; then the caption from Daily Pop as the caption on the picture; and then, below the picture, my own amazing thoughts on the pictures.

Without further ado, here are the sneak peeks!

Before the Grande- Some of the earliest pictures of El Mustachio Grande.

I’m so glad they didn’t use any of these.  Some of them don’t even look scary.

Royal Crown- This leap went straight to the headpiece.

A Poptropican on top of some giant guy’s head with what looks like drawings that a two-year old did.  Perfectly normal.

Spiked- Time flies like an arrow.

Maybe a Poptropican throwing something?  Not quite sure.

Outside the Lines- Poptropica gets a new looks. Not really.

So, this is probably a sketch or something that the Creators thought they might be able to trick us into thinking that was the way that Poptropica was going to look soon, when it really isn’t.  Or is it?

Ship of Fools- Still, they've got the best view.

Okay, the eye on the boat reminds me of the Eye of Horus, which is from Egyptian Mythology.  But the “ship of fools” part reminds me of Greek Mythology for some reason.  So confusing…

Victory in Hand- These fists are drawing a finish line in the sand.

Giant fists being the finish line for a race?  This is getting weirder all the time.

Sculpted Abs- This massive figure has the power.

So a giant who is a blacksmith.  Don’t know if that is what it is, but it sure sounds creative.

Shield Law- Even the biggest shield can's stop the biggest spear.

*gasp* TYPO!!!!  The caption said “Even the biggest shield can’s stop the biggest spear.”!  The typo’s the word “can’s”.  Wow.  The Creators have a typo on a sneak peek…wow.  Anyway, aren’t’ those the people from the ship of fools?

On Your Marks- Bet you can't guess what's happening here.

Of course I can guess.  A pole vault is where you run and then use a pole to vault over another pole.

Head in the Clouds- This new island sets some lofty goals for you.

A giant statue flying.  How does that work?  Or is that even a statue?

Well, that’s all for now.  Sorry if my commentary wasn’t very interesting, but it’s hard to be interesting when you are tired.  And it’s hard not to be tired when you are doing something as boring and time consuming as this.

Daily Pop Sneak Peeks #10

Time again for a post about the sneak peeks on daily pop which, by the way, takes forever to do, so I hope that you appreciate all of this hard work that I am putting myself through for you.

Anyway, here’s the beginning of at least an hour of taking a picture, saving it, uploading it, copying the caption from the side of the picture on daily pop, typing, adding more pictures and captions, putting the post in a category, adding some tags to the post, and publishing the post.  All this adds up to a post that looks like it took about ten seconds and not much brain power to make.

A Vine Time- Wait a minute, did we use that pun already?

That pun was used on the picture of the statue with the vines on it.  Click here to see the post where it showed that.

All You Can Eat- If only the food were any good.

So an all you can eat thing where the food isn’t any good?  Sounds pretty depressing wonderful.

Field Day- What goes up must come down.

Why is it called “Field Day”?  And what is the thing that went up that needs to come down.  Or maybe there was a building there which they tore down.  And why is there a… *cough*…toilet in the picture?

Buffet, Okay- We take it back. This looks delicious.

So the all you can eat thing where the food was supposed to be bad has suddenly turned into a buffet where the food looks delicious?  …I’m confused.

Wicked Woods- Don't get off the beaten path here.

Are my eyes deceiving me, or do those gold things coming out of that tree look like the fairy from the post a couple days ago?  What would those sweet, innocent things be doing in a wicked wood?  Hopefully they are sweet and innocent.

Uphill Battle- Watch for falling rocks.

How is that an uphill battle?

Leap Day- This won't happen again for four years.

No offense, but what does that picture have to do with leap day?  I mean, it’s a pretty picture and all, but…  Maybe you have to play leap frog to get through the tunnel.

Swap Fever- No, there's nothing in there. Nor anything.

What is swap fever supposed to be?  Maybe if you step in the swamp you get a fever?  No, that doesn’t make sense.

Magic Mushrooms- No good can come from a fungus like that.

So, an evil mushroom that looks weird.  That’s sort of boring.  It’s not even creative.  (Psst, don’t look now, but there are three of those fairies that we can’t figure out if they are good or not in the picture.  They’re right next to that guy who looks really weird and needs to get someone to stick some fashion sense inside his head.)

Line Art- There must be something just out of sight.

An old temple or monument or something like that with a bunch of black lines all around it.  Just your average sketch for something on Poptropica.  Moving on…

In Ruins- The city shall rise again!

So there’s what looks like the ruins of a Greek or Roman city with a huge guy coming out of the ground.  Weird.  If the city is supposed to rise out of the ground, why is that freaky giant Poptropican dude rising up, too?  Or is that supposed to be the spirit of the city?  And is that horrible drawing of a bird that is on top of the building supposed to be a phoenix?

Character Sketch- This character could be a royal pain.

The far right one on the top row is my favorite one.  Which one is your favorite?

Wayback Machine- From 2010, these sketches were created and never used.

Okay, I really need a nap,  cause I’m so tired that for a minute there I thought that those were characters from the island Monster Carnival Island (I think that is what it was called) that the Creators said was coming out, but it never did.  In fact, I was about to do a completely separate post on this blog and a post on Super Thunder’s Blog about how the Creators showed us what the characters of the island that never came out looked like.  Thank goodness I came to my senses.  That would have been really embarrassing to do a post where I thought that cavemen were monsters…

South Pacific- A very early Skullduggery Island image.

For some reason I’m glad that Skullduggery Island didn’t end up looking like that.  It’s not very piratey, if you know what I mean.

Well, that brings another Daily Pop Sneak Peeks session to an end.  Ah yes, another hour wasted flown by full of boring stuff wonderfulness.

Just in case you are wondering, yes, I did almost do a post about how those cavemen people were characters from Monster Carnival Island.  Don’t you dare laugh!  It wouldn’t be that funny if you were in my position.  I mean, think about how it must feel to be me.  Admitting this just so that you could get a little entertainment out of my stupidity.  And no, I am not crazy, I am just exhausted.  I’m sure you’ve made a mistake like that before.  Well…maybe not quite that bad, but still.

Anyway, I will leave you know, hoping that you won’t bust out laughing the minute I am too far away to hear you.  I think I should go take that nap that I desperately need…

Edit: I was about to tell you this, but I forgot, cause I’m so tired.  I just wanted to let you know that the captions underneath the pictures are the captions from Daily Pop.  Just wanted to tell you that so I wouldn’t be sued for plagiarism.  Not that the Creators would sue a sweet, kind, innocent little girl like me.  Or would they?

What Do You Think of This?

The Creators recently did a post that, when you read it, you’ll think: What are they thinking?!?!  Though, the Creators must think that we can’t think, because they feel they must explain everything to us.  Even things that hopefully all of us know about.

What is this horrible thing that the Creators have done, you ask?  Well, I’ll tell you.

The Creators…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

………..get ready for it……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

………….the Creators thought that it was necessary to explain to us what a newspaper is.

Now you might be thinking, well that’s not so bad.  But just read how they explain it to us, and you’ll get mad, too.

Sit-down comics

Believe it or not, there was a time when the daily newspaper had pages and pages devoted to comic strips. I know what you’re thinking: “What’s a daily newspaper?”

Used to be that somebody brought a stack of folded papers to your house every day early in the morning, which had all this information about news and sports and things that had already happened, and to read it you had to turn the pages instead of swiping a screen, and — well, it’s not important.

Anyway, we at Poptropica still think that the funny pages are worth your time and attention. That’s why, for some time now, we’ve been publishing some of the very best comic strips in the Daily Pop.

All the best strips are here: Peanuts, Big Nate, Over the Hedge, and many more. They’re updated every day!

If you haven’t checked out the comics on Poptropica lately, head on over to the Daily Pop for a good chuckle. You won’t even get ink stains on your fingers.

Come on, Creators.  People still get newspapers.  And even little toddlers who are only two know what newspapers are.

Note to anyone reading this: if you don’t know what a newspaper is, please understand that I did not mean that a two year old is smarter than you.  I just meant that…um…how should I say this…you need to…be a bit smarter?  No, that didn’t even make sense.  Well, just know that I didn’t mean to offend you, and you’re welcome to read more posts while I try to figure out what I should say.
