Survival Episode 5- Out for members!

Hey guys, as you can see by the title, the final episode of Survival Island, Escape, is now out for members! 😀 But for some reason, the first epsiode of PoptropiCon Island, Line Forms Here, isn’t out. Interesting. Well, if you’re a member and have played the 5th episode of Survival, tell me what you think in the comments! 😀 Also, if I’m wrong and PoptropiCon is out for non-members, you guys can leave your opinion on the episode below too. 😉 Here’s my rank for Escape:

Not too bad huh? 😉 I personally thought this episode was pretty easy, but it was still fun. 😉

Candy + Zombies = ?

It’s very strange; the closer we get to Christmas, the closer we get to a creepy, weird, zombie-themed island.  Somehow the two just don’t fit…  Hopefully you’ll get a lot of presents to help you deal with this upcoming island.  But, before we get on with the zombie news, let’s start with something a bit sweeter.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now out for non-members!  Are you ready to get your golden ticket and delve into a candy-lovers dream?  Prepare yourself for a crazy adventure!

If you get a little stuck along the way, don’t forget to check out our awesome Charlie and the Chocolate Factory guide, written by Samwow5.

Though it is good news, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory isn’t the main theme of this post.  More news about Zomberry Island is waiting to be told.  Let the creepiness begin!

As you probably know by now, the Creators have been releasing a series of comics telling about how Zomberry Island’s fruit-loving inhabitants got turned into zombies that would fit in nicely in a horror movie.  If you missed the first half of the series, just take a look at this post and this post to catch up.  And if you’ve already read those, take a look below to see the newest addition to Zomberry: Day Zero.

Oh, the suspense of it all!  This comic was released yesterday, so the 5th one should be released sometime later today.  Hopefully we’ll find out who on earth is in that helicopter and if Joe Puddy manages to escape from those zombies.

If you’re a member, you can have a little fun with some new items while you’re waiting for the next comic to be released.  If you guessed that the Zomberry Island gear is now out, then you are correct!

The items that you get are the Big Blue power, the ZMB Unit costume, and the Safety Flare item.

First up, the Big Blue power!

Big Blue power

When you put on the big blue power, prepare yourself for a shock.  Your Poptropican will turn into one of those oversized zombies.

Big Blue power pic

Very attractive, isn’t it?

Now, onto the Safety Flare item.

Safety Flare item

When you use the Safety Flare item, a flare will go into your hand.  When you press the SPACEBAR, your Poptropican will put down one of these flares, making a reliable, red light.

Safety Flare item pic

And last, but most certainly not least, the ZMB Unit costume.

ZMB Unit costume

Use the ZMB Unit costume to turn your once-normal Poptropican into a tough Poptropican who’s ready for anything.

ZMB Unit costume pic

That about wraps it up for this zombie-packed post.  Non-members, go out and have some delicious fun in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and members, go prepare yourselves to face some monsters.  Check back for more news!  Also, I’m currently working on a post about sneak peeks in Daily Pop, so that should come out real soon!  😀

…And, of course, right as I finish this post as was prepared to get my Poptropican out of the ZMB Unit costume, Poptropica stops working on me and won’t let me log back in due to maintenance.  Hopefully this doesn’t mean that we won’t be able to play for awhile…

It’s Almost Been a Month…

…It’s almost been a month since I last posted.  I’m so, so, sorry about that!  I really need to quit doing that.  I really don’t have any excuse for not posting that long except that I’ve been alternating from being really busy to really lazy.  Also, I got a little distracted by the release of a couple video games…

BUT!  I’m back now and hopefully un-distracted for at least a little bit.  I’m gonna spend awhile catching up on everything I’ve missed, so you might not see much new stuff around here for awhile.  And you also might be stuck looking at the Halloween header for a little bit longer.

I don’t have time to go over every little thing that I’ve missed, so I’m just going to go over the most important things that have happened while I’ve been gone.  I think I’m just going to organize this post by category of what the stuff’s about, like all the CatCF stuff in one section and all the costume stuff in another section.  So, it might not necessarily be in the order that it actually happened, but it’s easier on me if I do it this way.

So, let’s start!

As you all probably know, Poptropica Adventures is a video-game version of Poptropica with some of the islands in it along with some new stuff.  It came out for Nintendo DS owners on November 6.  I don’t have it, so if anyone out there has it and would like to be kind enough to tell me what it’s like and if it’s good or not, I would appreciate that!  Check out the video for it below!

There’s a new costume in the Poptropica Store!  And like some of the more recent costumes, it’s food-themed.  Either the Creators have been eating too much food, or they have been eating enough…it seems like a lot of stuff is about food right now.  Anyway, check out a pic of the newest-addition to the costumes…the Candy Bar Costume!

Make sure you check out this yummy costume!

Now, I’m sure all of you know about the new books that have been added to the collection of Poptropica books!  They were released November 8.  The names of the books are Skullduggery Island, Astro-Knights Island, Pencil Warrior, and Poptropica Mad Libs.  Make sure you take a look at them!  And, just for fun, take a look at the trailer for Skullduggery Island!

There are some new Poptropica toys available!  They are called Poketeers!

The names of the cute, little toys are Dark Astro-Knight, Hamburger, Dr. Hare, and Lion.  Each one comes with a code that will unlock an exclusive prize, so make sure you get these little guys!

And, of course, I saved the best thing for last!

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is now available for members!  There’s also a demo for non-members.  The island came out for members yesterday.  I haven’t had a chance to play it yet, but I’m sure it’s awesome!  There’s a members-only bonus quest in this island, just like the most recent islands!  Here’s a pic of the description:

Here’s what the picture says: Three of Wonka’s rivals have stolen his most secret recipes!  Take to the skies in the Great Glass Elevator and bring these villains down to earth.

Sounds pretty cool!

The members-only bonus gear has arrived in the Poptropica Store.

The gear includes the Oompa-Loompa Costume, the Oompa-Loompa Power, and the Everlasting Gobstopper!  Make sure that you get the Oompa-Loompa Costume right away, because it will be gone once Charlie and the Chocolate Factory comes out for everyone.

Don’t feel too bad, non-members, the island comes out for everyone on December 6, and that’s not too far away.  I know it’s not much, but maybe the newly-released video for the island will help you wait.

I can’t wait to play CatCF!  Hopefully, it won’t be too long before I have a chance to sit down and play it…

Anyway, I think that’s all that I had to talk about.  And, if it isn’t, I’m going to have to stop this post here because I have to go.  Thank you guys so much for not abandoning my blog while I was gone!  I’m going to try really hard not to let that happen again!  All of you peeps rock!

Out-of-This-World Walkthrough, Villainous Island for Everyone, 500,000,000 Poptropicans, and a Sweet Info Page

As you can tell by the title, we have a lot to talk about!

First off, you may be familiar with the app for Poptropica, it’s called the Poptropica: Official Tips and Tricks app.  It’s basically an app with guides on it.  (Although, why would you use that when you have sites like this with tons of guides on them just a click away?)

A new guide has been added to it, hence the “Out-of-This-World Walkthrough” part of this post’s title.  Any guesses as to what island this guide is for? 😉

Lunar Colony walkthrough now available!

If you’re still stuck on our latest free Island, Lunar Colony, you’re in luck: You can now download the Lunar Colony guide in our official walkthrough app for FREE! The Lunar Colony guide is available now for Apple iOS devices, and will be available soon for Android devices.

If you have an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad, download the updated Poptropica Tips & Tricks app from the App Store.

If you have an Android-powered phone or tablet, download the updated Poptropica & Tricks app from the Android Market.

Then, open it up and select your free Lunar Colony guide to download the guide — and then get to work!

I’m a little worried about the part in Captain Crawfish’s post where he says “our latest free Island”.  It’s the “free” part that gets to me.  The Creators aren’t going to make us start paying for islands, are they?!?!

Second on our little list of things I’m going to tell you about, is the release of a certain little island.  Super Villain Island was released to everyone yesterday (October 18th).  Here’s the trailer just for the sake of taking up some more room in this post.

Now, I knew that Poptropica is a really big online game.  But it turns out that it’s a lot bigger than I thought…  Check this out!

500,000,000 Poptropicans and counting!

It’s been a year of milestones for Poptropica. 5 years, 30 Islands, and now this: 500,000,000 characters created.

If Poptropica were a country, it would be the third biggest in the world. Thank you to everyone who is a part of Poptropica!

avatar image

Wow.  500,000,000 Poptropicans created!  That’s pretty big!

What better way to celebrate that amazing thing than with something a little sweet?  And I don’t think you’re going to find anything sweeter than this up-and-coming-island whose info page was recently released.

So, like I’ve mentioned about a thousand times before, I’ve never read the book or seen the movies, so I have no idea what the storyline of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory actually is.  But, if it’s anything like the description on the info page, then it sounds pretty cool.

Here’s what the picture says: After years of silence, Willy Wonka’s magical chocolate factory is re-opening, and you’ve got a Golden Ticket.  But when a group of misbehaving kids threaten to destroy Wonka’s candy creations, he needs you to save the day.  Prepare to untangle a confectionary conundrum that’s full of sweet treats and sticky situations!

There are some also pictures on the info page.  You can recognize parts of the pictures from the Daily Pop Sneak Peeks.  Check them out!

There’s a downloadable wallpaper and poster available on the info page.  Here’s what the desktop wallpaper looks like:

And here’s what the printable poster looks like:

Both of those look pretty cool!

There’s are also links to buy the book and the movie on the info page.  As of right now, there isn’t a section about a Members-only bonus quest, so I don’t know if this is going to be the first island in a long time without one or if it’s just not up yet.  I’ll keep checking back and I’ll let you know, though.

If you want to see the info page for yourself, just click HERE to check it out!

That about wraps up this really long post of mine!  Hope you enjoyed it.

Poptropica Pop Quizzes: Updated

Everyone knows about the Pop Quiz feature in Poptropica.  You answer a question, it gets added to your profile, and you have one question a day… or at least you did until you ran out of questions.  And then you just sat there, waiting for your daily question, but no new questions were added.  That is, no new questions were added until the Creators updated them recently

Finally, a pop quiz you’ll enjoy

We’ve recently added dozens of new pop quizzes to Poptropica Friends. Now, you can share with the world even more of your unique personality — and learn more about your friends, too.

Taking pop quizzes is easy. Just log into your Poptropica account every day for a new quiz, and check out the “recent activity” tab to see what your friends have been up to.

I never knew that Captain Crawfish can climb trees! How do you do that with a peg leg? Very slowly, I guess.

All I can say is that it took the Creators long enough to add some more questions.

Two Posts That Have Nothing To Do With Each Other

I’ve haven’t been very active recently.  Sorry about that.  I’ve been alternating between being busy and lazy since the last time I posted.  I’ll try to be more active, though.

The Creators have been doing a lot of posts recently, but I’m only going to post the two that I think are the most important out of the ones that I’ve missed.  So, let’s start!

Fear is in the air

Halloween is coming up. It’s one of our favorite holidays. Nothing is more fun than dressing up in a costume, getting free candy, and —

–getting scared out of your wits!

Yikes, didn’t see that one coming.

avatar image

Hmm… I don’t know whether this post is just a random post that the Creators do, or if it is a sneak peek.  I’m gonna go with sneak peek, though, since the background looks like something from the previews of the city-themed island.

On to the next post!

It’s official: Poptropicans love super villains!

Wow! We put up a poll last week asking players what their favorite new Island of the year is. Super Villain Island dominated the field, winning more than 50% of the vote! Of course, with more new Islands coming soon, we have to wonder if the results will hold through the end of 2012…

If you haven’t played Super Villain Island and want to see what all the fuss is about, you can wait one more week until it becomes available to everyone. Or, you can get Membership and play it today! You win either way.

avatar image

I think out of S.O.S. Island, Vampire’s Curse Island, Twisted Thicket, Poptropolis Games, Wimpy Boardwalk, Lunar Colony, and Super Villain Island, I’d have to go with either Vampire’s Curse Island or Super Villain Island as my favorite island this year.  Which one/ones are your favorites?

Just a couple reminders before I end this post: first, if you want to get the Night Hare Costume, you have to get it before October 18th, cause that’s when early access for Super Villain Island ends; second, non-members prepare yourselves, Super Villain Island comes out to everybody October 18th, so make sure you are sitting by the computer then!

New Poptropica Books That Are Comin’ Your Way!

Most of you peeps probably know about the book, Poptropica: The Official Guide, that was released last year.  Well, the Creators have decided to add some new books the the collection!  Look below to see pictures and descriptions of the books!  The pics are from and the descriptions are from the Creators’ Blog.

Poptropica Mad Libs-

I think all of these books look pretty cool!  Do you think you’ll be getting any of them?

Countdown to an Island, Applebee’s, and Another Awesome Trailer (And More)

A lot has happened in Poptropica recently, and I’m super late posting about all of it.  I’m sorry about that!  Life just sort of took over for awhile.

But, now I’ve got it back under control now (sort of) and I’m going to start being more regular about posts (don’t take my word for that).

Anyway, like I said, a lot has happened recently, so this is going to be one big post.

First off, the release date for Super Villain Island has been announced for members!  It is scheduled to come out on September 27th!  That’s a week from yesterday, so don’t forget to mark you calenders for that, members!  In the words of Dr. Hare: “Get ready for the Poptropica adventure of your dreams — or maybe your nightmares…”.  If you’re not a member, be sure to get membership if you want to play Super Villain Island right when it comes out, or if you want the Night Hare costume, which is members-only and only available during Super Villain’s early release period.  Don’t forget that the Bonus Quest is also for members only.

Let’s stop talking about Super Villain Island for a second.  Yeah, I know it’s hard not to, but we’ll come back to it.

A little while back, Poptropica was…was…was…was featured…well that doesn’t sound right, but we’ll go with that anyway.  A little while back, Poptropica was featured in Applebee’s restaurants.  Basically you could go there, get something to eat off of the kid’s menu, and get a toy or something.  I’m not quite sure what you would get, cause I never went there.  But you’ve got the idea.

I guess Applebee’s really liked them or something, because Poptropica has returned to those restaurants!

“Arr” you hungry for a good time?

We have two pieces of news today that are so exciting that I don’t know which one to share first. Let’s see… eenie, meanie, miney, moe… All right, got it.

Poptropica is back at Applebee’s! From now until November 10, when your family eats at a participating Applebee’s restaurant, you’ll get a new Poptropica activity book that will keep you entertained even when the adults start talking about boring stuff. Plus, each menu has a special code that you can enter to get an Applebee’s-themed costume and power for your Poptropican!

(Not sure how to redeem a code for your Poptropican? Find out here.)

The second bit of important news: Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Do your old pal Captain Crawfish a favor and spend the rest of the day rolling your Rs and calling for grog.

Off ye go, mateys!

avatar image

The code that you can find on the menu will get you a pair of glasses shaped like apples.  You’ll also get an apple that you can hold.

If you press the spacebar while wearing these, it will make apples rain down from the sky.

Now, back to Super Villain Island.  There’s two more things to say about this up and coming awesomely scary island.

First, is that the Creators have added a countdown timer for Super Villain Island to Poptropica’s homepage.

Also, the Creators released the trailer for Super Villain Island today!

I really like this trailer, it looks so awesome.  I can’t wait for Super Villain Island, either!  I’m so excited, I could just scream!

And, now, last but not least, you probably know that Poptropica’s celebration has been going on for awhile now.  Well, a link to a page about Poptropica’s Fifth Birthday has been added to Poptropica’s homepage.

The page basically talks about all the stuff that we’ve already told you about.  About the 5th birthday balloon in the common rooms, and about the free balloon from the Poptropica Store.  But there is one thing on the page that I didn’t know about.

The picture says: Members Only Exclusive!  Did you miss your chance to complete a “Members Only” island set in the Poptropica Store?  Now’s your chance to make the set complete!  In September, we will be re-releasing ultra-rare costumes and powers in the Poptropica Store!

Awesome!  So, if your a member, make sure that you get those costumes and powers before September is over!  Or, if you’re anything like me, before you forget!

Poptropica’s 5th Birthday

Poptropica’s birthday celebration is underway!  Poptropica’s turning 5 years old this year.  That’s a pretty long time.

In honor of this wonderful event, the search for a balloon that has a big “5” on it is now on.  If you find it, you get a special birthday costume.

I found the balloon in Early Poptropica’s common room, so if you’re having trouble finding the balloon, you might want to try looking there.

If you can’t find the balloon, don’t worry, cause there’s always the free balloon that you can get in the Poptropica Store.

It doesn’t have as much…pizazz…as the costume does, but I like it better.  It’s not quite as “in your face”, if you know what I mean.

Hopefully Poptropica will continue to have as much success as it has so far and will continue to keep getting bigger and bigger and better and better.

Happy birthday Poptropica!  😀  Thanks for all the fun!

Happy B-Day, Poptropica!

The Race to Erase: Looks like someone is attempting to rub out Poptropica as we know it. But you’re not going to let that happen, are you? ~ Captain Crawfish

Some kind of… creepy… eraser-man who’s erasing Dragon Cove in Skullduggery Island…

*gets on Phoenix Warbird*

Navigator: Where have you been all this time?!

Let’s just go to Dragon Cove. I want to see something.

*Rides ship to Dragon Cove*

*Brave Tomato runs out of the ship and looks around. Everything is still in tact.*

Must be some sort of future event… I hope this guy isnt the one responsible for those returning villains.. wait, I’m on Skullduggery, and this is where CC is!

Who the heck is this guy, and why the heck does he want to erase Poptropica? Wait, did I say erase? Like Poptropica’s some sort of canvas… wait-a-minute! The Starry Night and Water Lillies Daily Pop! The fact that the Black Widow covered those paintings! Argh! I’m really confused! And he has hands and shoes!!! O.o
