Well, as you can probably tell by the title, that I am a new author here. Hooray. :3 Anyways, I am Magic Fire, a new author here at Icy Comet’s Blog! When I found out that the blog was starting up again, I got all excited and filled out a form to be an author, and here I am now apparently! Well, I would like to thank Icy for hiring me as an author here, because well, it’s her blog of course. 😛 Oh wait, I haven’t even introduced myself yet, well here you go folks:

I’m Magic Fire (wait, I already said that didn’t I), but you can call me MF or Magic, or really whatever you want. Well, I’ve been playing Poptropica for about 3 years now and started blogging about it in December. I have my own blog, The Poptropica Package, which is also now having a costume contest in honor of 3 thousand hits! My username, if you want to friend me or look at my costume of something, it’s pop123tropica15. 😉 I know it’s strange, don’t judge. 😛 I like pizza, drawing and reading. Well, that seems about like all you need to know about me.

Once again, thank you Icy Comet for letting me join this great blog! 🙂 Hopefully, I’ll help get this blog up and running again! 😀 😛

An Out-For-Everyone Island and a Soon-To-Be-Out Game

Two things have happened in Poptropica, that I’m a little late posting.  Sorry ’bout that.  My week has been really busy.

The first thing that’s happened is the release of a certain island.

Lunar Colony is out for non-members!  The official launch date was September 6, but, like I said before, I’m a little late.

It’s like something that Captain Crawfish once said:

A pirate can’t just sit around blogging all day, you know.

Don’t forget to check out our guide to Lunar Colony!

The second thing that’s happened, is the announcing of a game.  Not a game on Poptropica, and not even a game online.  Ever hear of a Nintendo DS?

Poptropica Adventures

Picture from Amazon.com

If you go onto the Creators’ Blog, and, if you look under the menu labeled “Poptropica Merchandise” you should see this icon:

If you go to Amazon’s page about it, there are a few different things that you’ll see.  First the picture of the game (obviously).  The game’s called Poptropica Adventures and it’s for the Nintendo DS, in case you haven’t already figured that out.  Amazon’s price for it right now is $29.99, and the game is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2012.  That’s not too far away!

Here’s what the description says about the features of the game:

  • Explore an amazing world – Run and jump through three amazing Poptropica islands.
  • Create a character all your own! – Customize the look of your avatar with new clothes, hats, hair styles and more!
  • Build a collection like no other – Find gadgets and items as you progress in the game and complete your quests.
  • Mini game challenges – Complete the quests and unlock a host of minigames that provide more challenges and variety.

So, three islands, new clothes and hats and all that, lots of minigames… This game sounds pretty cool!

That’s all for right now, but hopefully we’ll find out more information about it soon!  (Please!)

An Update To An Old Island

A certain store in an old island has been updated by the Creators.  Don’t get too excited, though, nothing major has happened.

The Magic Tree House Store on Red Dragon Island is the lucky store that got this update.  Sorry all you other stores, guess you’ll just have to live with being old and boring for right now.  (Yeah, I know that wasn’t funny at all.  Can’t blame a girl for trying.)

Anyway, the update has something to do with pandas.  Here’s the Creators’ post, telling you what this amazing update is.

Is there ever a bad time for pandas?

A little over a year ago, we released an Island in cooperation with our friends at Magic Tree House. It’s called Red Dragon Island, and if you haven’t played it, you’re missing out on a thrilling adventure through old Japan with Jack and Annie, the heroes of the Magic Tree House series.

(Oh, and you also get to master a bunch of awesome ninja skills like climbing up walls and using a grappling hook.)

Whether you’ve been through Red Dragon Island before or not, now’s a great time to head back. Not just because it’s a great adventure, but because the Magic Tree House store has been updated with the latest, greatest books from the series. Head on over to Poptropica and visit Red Dragon Island to get the scoop on A Perfect Time for Pandas, and its accompanying Fact Tracker, Pandas and Other Endangered Species.

And then find the ninja master and get to work!

So, just to see what would happen, I clicked on the book in the Magic Tree House Store.  Here, wait, let me give you a little picture of the book.

*sigh*  What a beautiful picture…

The book is called A Perfect Time for Pandas.  Yeah, guess you probably read that in the Creators’ post, but I wasn’t really paying attention to their post, so…yeah.  (I think I say “yeah” just a little bit too much…oh, well.)

So, like I was saying, I clicked on the book to see what would happen.  I thought that it would like force me to buy the book or something, which would have been bad, cause I don’t like the Magic Tree House books.  But, thank goodness for me, it just gave me a description of the book

Here’s a pic of the description (and, yes, you have to read it 😈 ).

Watch out for that “Buy Now” button.  Click it, and that’s when they force you to buy the book you don’t want to buy.  (Just kidding! 😉 )

The other book that the Creators mentioned is called Pandas and Other Endangered Species.  Here’s a pic:

So I clicked on this one, as well.  And guess what? They didn’t force me to buy this one, either!  It just showed me a description of the book.  You have to read this one, too.  😀

So yeah, that’s about it.

Let’s think about what I’ve accomplished with this post.  I’ve escaped from a book store without buying anything, and I’ve forced you to read two descriptions of books that you didn’t necessarily care about.  I think that’s pretty good. 😉

Oh, and before I end this boring, annoying, etc. post, I just thought I should explain why I went a little overboard on the pics.  I’m not crazy or anything, it’s just that one of my many dreams is to become a photographer…  Not really.  I just like taking pictures. 😀

Well, now that you officially think that I’m insane, I think I’ll leave.

See ya!

There has been one major change to Icy Comet’s Blog.  That change is Popular Jumper isn’t part of Icy Comet’s Blog anymore.  She was a wonderful author, and I know that everyone will miss her.

Note: This post is sticky, scroll down to see other posts.

I just wanted to do a post to let people know that I might hire an author to take nessabc’s place, like I said in my last post.  If you want to become an author, just go to the Become an Author page, read the page, and leave a comment telling why I should hire you as an author.  Make sure you follow all of the steps, and make sure you read everything carefully!  In the past few days, I have made some changes to the Become an Author page, so, if you have already read the page, make sure you re-read the page, because some things are different.

~ Icy Comet

Hi peoples!

I have a couple updates that I wanted to share with you.

First, I want to wish everyone a happy new year from everyone who works on this blog.

Second, I’m sorry to say that nessabc isn’t going to be an author on Icy Comet’s Blog anymore.  We really enjoyed having her on this blog, and we are really going to miss her.

Lastly, I might hire an author to take nessabc’s place.  If you want to become an author in nessabc’s place, just leave a comment on the Become an Author page, telling why I should hire you as an author.  Please make sure you read the page before you comment, I have made a few changes.  After you leave your comment, Super Thunder, Popular Jumper, and I will take a look at your comment and if you have one, take a look at your blog, and then we will decide whether we want to hire you as an author or not.

Strange Skecthing

Today I looked through the daily pop and i saw this

It looks JUST like the telescope on Skullduggery Island.

Daily Pop Has Come to Poptropica…Along With Other Updates

That’s right, Daily Pop has now come to Poptropica!

Earlier today, Poptropica was down for maintenance.  When it came back up, it brought along some big changes.

The first change is when you log into Poptropica.  The logging in part is normal, but when you are done logging in, it brings you to a page that looks like this (this page is your home page):

You can click on the picture to see a bigger one.

I couldn’t fit the top part in the picture, just so you know.

On the top part, to the left hand side, is Poptropica’s logo.  If you click on the logo, you will be brought to the game part of Poptropica.  On the top part, to the right hand side, there are five buttons.  This is what the buttons look like:

The first button, the one that looks like a blimp, will bring you to the game part of Poptropica when you click on it.  The second button, the one that says Pop, will bring you to Daily Pop, which I will tell you more about later.  The third button, the one that looks like a star, will bring you to your Stats/Store page.  There, you can check your stats and buy things from the store, just like you normally could.  The fourth button, the one that has two Poptropicans’ faces, will bring you to your friends page, where you can use Multiverse.  The last button, the one that looks like a house, will bring you back to the home page.

Now, onto Daily Pop…the thing we have been waiting for days to see it.

When you go to Daily Pop, you will automatically be taken to the Comics page.  There are three pages that you can go to in Daily Pop.  The first page is the Comics page.  The second page is the Games page.  The third page is the Sneak Peaks page.

First, more about the comics page.

When you get to the comics page, you can click on a comics logo to read the comic.  There are nine comics you can read.  Here are the comics you can read:

On the first page:

On the second page:

Now, the Games page.

When you go to the Games page, you can click on the games’ logos to play the games.  There are eight games you can play.  The games are:

Now for the last page, the Sneak Peeks page:

When you go to the Sneak Peeks page, you can look at four sneak peeks of different things by the Creators.  You can also rate them.  Here are the current four sneak peeks:

You can click on any of the pictures to see a bigger one.

That is it for Daily Pop.

Just in case you were wondering, the game part of Poptropica has not changed, except for the fact that there is a border around it now.

Before I end this post, here is what the Creators have to say about Daily Pop and the updates on Poptropica:

Daily Pop is here!

You might have noticed that Poptropica was down for a few hours this morning. That’s because the Creators were busy putting the finishing touches on the newest addition to the Poptropica experience!

Now, whenever you log into your saved Poptropica game, you’ll have even more to choose from. Jump right into your game, or check out the Daily Pop!

With Daily Pop, there’s something new to enjoy on Poptropica every day. Read comics, play games, and see sneak peeks of upcoming Islands that you can only find in the Daily Pop. Plus, there are a few added improvements that we think will make your Poptropica adventures even better.

Check it out!
