An Out-For-Everyone Island and a Soon-To-Be-Out Game

Two things have happened in Poptropica, that I’m a little late posting.  Sorry ’bout that.  My week has been really busy.

The first thing that’s happened is the release of a certain island.

Lunar Colony is out for non-members!  The official launch date was September 6, but, like I said before, I’m a little late.

It’s like something that Captain Crawfish once said:

A pirate can’t just sit around blogging all day, you know.

Don’t forget to check out our guide to Lunar Colony!

The second thing that’s happened, is the announcing of a game.  Not a game on Poptropica, and not even a game online.  Ever hear of a Nintendo DS?

Poptropica Adventures

Picture from

If you go onto the Creators’ Blog, and, if you look under the menu labeled “Poptropica Merchandise” you should see this icon:

If you go to Amazon’s page about it, there are a few different things that you’ll see.  First the picture of the game (obviously).  The game’s called Poptropica Adventures and it’s for the Nintendo DS, in case you haven’t already figured that out.  Amazon’s price for it right now is $29.99, and the game is scheduled to be released on November 6, 2012.  That’s not too far away!

Here’s what the description says about the features of the game:

  • Explore an amazing world – Run and jump through three amazing Poptropica islands.
  • Create a character all your own! – Customize the look of your avatar with new clothes, hats, hair styles and more!
  • Build a collection like no other – Find gadgets and items as you progress in the game and complete your quests.
  • Mini game challenges – Complete the quests and unlock a host of minigames that provide more challenges and variety.

So, three islands, new clothes and hats and all that, lots of minigames… This game sounds pretty cool!

That’s all for right now, but hopefully we’ll find out more information about it soon!  (Please!)

Almost Here and Almost Gone

Tomorrow is July 18th.  Do you know what that means?

No, it’s not my birthday.

No, it’s not your birthday.

Might as well tell you…

…Tomorrow is the day that Wimpy Boardwalk comes out for non-members!

But, with the arrival of Wimpy Boardwalk comes the departure of something else.

Life’s a beach

It’s a bittersweet occasion when an Island becomes available to everyone. Sweet, because — well, obviously because everyone can play! Bitter, because it means that some of the Members-only items for that Island are gone for good. That’s the case with the exclusive “Beachgoer” costume on Wimpy Boardwalk. Time is running out to get it!

Poptropica Members can get their Beachgoer costume for the next few days. Better act fast, because once it’s gone, it’s gone! (The Beach Umbrella and Heat Wave power will remain in the store.)

Wimpy Boardwalk will be available to everyone this Thursday, July 18. Watch this blog for the official announcement!

Cry your hearts out, Creators.  I don’t think that anybody’s going to buy membership just for that costume.

What’s that you say?  That membership pays Poptropica’s bills?  And without it you would have to shut Poptropica down and go out of business?

Mystery Character and an Out-for-Members Island

There are two posts from the Creators blog which I’m late posting about.  Sorry I didn’t post them sooner.  At least I’m not afraid to say that I’m late posting them.  …Not sure how that would help, but whatever.

So the first post is about a mystery character who we may be seeing in an up-and-coming island.

He took it all too far

Who is Zaggy Moondust? And what’s he got to do with Poptropica? Perhaps one day we will find out.

The second post is about guess what?  Yep, Wimpy Boardwalk.

Wimpy Boardwalk is now available to Poptropica Members!

Well, don’t feel too bad, non-members.  Cause Wimpy Boardwalk comes out to everyone in exactly two weeks!  Mark your calenders for July 18th!

Poptropolis Games is now available to all!

Poptropolis Games is now available for everyone to play. Visit Poptropica now to play Poptropolis Games.

We’ll see you on the medals stand!

…Actually it came out for everyone yesterday.  But, who cares?  It’s just a small technical detail which no one really cares about.

The Games Have…Almost…Begun!

All you poor non-members have been forced to wait on the sidelines while the members have been showing how amazing they are with feats of honor and glory during the Poptropolis Games.  You’ve been waiting forever, and ever, and ever, but it seems like the day that you get to impress all of Poptropica never gets any closer.  But, the wait is almost over, because….

Poptropolis Games comes out to non-members…

The games begin in two days!

You’ve been waiting patiently, and the wait is almost over. Poptropolis Games will be available to all this Thursday. Get ready to choose your tribe and compete for glory!

Remember, only Poptropica Members can get the Poptropolis Games gear pack, not to mention the bonus quest that takes place once the main competition is over.

Member, non-Member — in the Poptropolis Games, we like to think everyone’s a winner!

Yeah, the Creators were all sneaky and posted this yesterday when I wasn’t looking.  So, that’s why it says two days instead of one day.

For Those of You Who Don’t Know Already…

…Poptropolis Games is OUT!  It actually came out yesterday, but I was too busy beating it to let you know.  😉  You, know, I’ve got priorities and all that.

Poptropolis Games is now available!

Get ready to compete for the glory of your tribe. Visit Poptropica now to play Poptropolis Games!

The release date for non-members is June 14.  That’s not too far away…well, when you’re waiting for an island time seems to slow down, so I guess that is a little far away.

Psst!  Go Seraphim!

Amazing Super Powers That Aren’t So Amazing

So, yeah, basically the Creators made a big deal over a few super powers that aren’t that great and should really be on Super Power Island not Twisted Thicket Island.  And even though there’s no point in putting it up, here’s the post from the Creators’ Blog.

Bonus points!

For the past few Islands, we’ve been including a bonus quest that tells the story after the story. They’ve all been fun, but they’ve never been quite like the one on Twisted Thicket.

When you play the Twisted Thicket bonus quest, you’ll have access to a trio of special powers: troll strength, dryad wings, and goblin speed. You’ll need all of them in order to complete this special, extra, extra-special adventure!

Twisted Thicket will be available to everyone on Wednesday, May 2. But only Members will be able to play the bonus quest — and only Members can play Twisted Thicket right now!

Not a Member? Find out how to become a Poptropica Member today!

Notice how they always put in “Not a Member?  Find out how to become a Poptropica Member today!”.  Bo-ring! Come on, Creators, you really need to think of something new.

Oh, and one more thing.  Non-members get to use the powers at the very end of the island.  Gosh, Creators, you need to quit forgetting what you put in your own island!

Ah, Yes, Another Random Post Courtesy of the Creators

The Creators have two talents.  One, making an…okay (all right, better than okay) game like Poptropica.  Two, making really random posts.  When it comes to making posts that are random, already tell us about something we know about, and are probably just put up there to make it seem like the Creators are more active than they really are, nobody beats the Creators.  Except maybe me, of course.

Anyway, today’s, well actually yesterday’s, random and useless post is a post reminding us that Vampire’s Curse Island comes out for non-members Thursday…as if we could forget, anyway…

Only a few days left until Vampire’s Curse Island is open to all!

The headline sort of says it all, doesn’t it? Vampire’s Curse Island will be available to everyone this Thursday! At last, non-Members will be able to explore the shadowy corners of Count Bram’s castle, and seek to end the curse of vampirism.

But don’t forget: the Members-only Vampire Count costume is only available until this Thursday!

Always have to remind you that there’s such a thing as Membership, don’t they.

One, more thing before I leave.  I would just like to say that the Creators still haven’t fixed that glitch thingy that Brave Tomato pointed out to me.  The glitch thingy is, when you go to the Island Tour place and you scroll down that list of islands that they have there, the symbol for Time Tangled Island is the same as the symbol for Twisted Thicket Island.

Twisted Thicket name & symbol

Time Tangled name & symbol

Weird, right?

Well, on that random note, I think I’ll leave you now.

*walks off of stage that somehow appeared while the post was being written*

Exit: Vampire Count and Countess

Edit: I re-read the post after I wrote it, and I realized that I accidentally said that Vampire’s Curse Island is now out for non-members, when I meant that it would be out next Thursday.  I’m so sorry if you got excited by reading the post and then found out that Vampire’s Curse Island actually isn’t out yet.  If that happened, you have every right to throw a tomato at me.  Brave Tomato will provide the tomatoes.  And, again, I’m so, so sorry!

If you love the Vampire Count or, if you are a girl, the Vampire Countess, you better hurry up and get membership before next Thursday.  That’s when the Vampire Count and Countess will be exciting Poptropica to go where all of the once-was-but-isn’t-anymore stuff from Poptropica go to.  Where that is, nobody knows.  The point is Early Access for Vampire’s Curse Island is almost over, and when that ends, so does the time that you can get the costume.

Now, some of you might have put two and two together at that moment and realized what that means.  But for those of you that didn’t (and don’t worry if you didn’t realize what that means, I probably wouldn’t have, either), I am going to tell you.  Early Access for Vampire’s Curse Island ending means that……………………………………………………… guessed it………………………………………………………Vampire’s Curse Island is going to be available for non-members next Thursday, the 22nd.

Here’s what the Creators have to say about this:

One week left to get your Vampire Count costume!

Vampire’s Curse Island will be open to everyone next Thursday, March 22. But as the Curse giveth, the Curse taketh away — the Members-only Vampire Count costume will be gone from the Poptropica Store on the same day!

The only way to get the Vampire Count costume is to become a Poptropica Member before next Thursday, then visit the Store to claim your costume. And if you do that, you can play all of Vampire’s Curse Island before everyone else! It’s win-win.

avatar image

I wish Black Widow would explain how that is a “win-win”.  I mean you have to save up all that money; either go online and try to figure out how to buy it from there, or drive to a Target or something like that to buy a game card; get maybe 6 days of Early Access; and get a costume that, no offense to anyone who likes the costume, is sort of…ugly.

All that just for a costume…

The Rescue Mission Begins!

Non-members, today is the day!  That’s right, S.O.S. Island is now out for everyone!

Prepare yourself for excitement, adventure, and (as rumor has it) a plot twist!

So, if you haven’t already begun the adventure, go on over to Poptropica and begin the mission!
