Yet Another Horrible Name, Courtesy of the Creators

The Creators announced the name of the last tribe (of the four that they have so far told us about).  Though, why they didn’t just do it all at once, I still don’t understand…

Anyway, don’t get too excited.  The name isn’t that amazing.  And, yes, I know that you thought that nothing could get worse than Black Flag or Flying Squid, but this beats those by miles in the category of horrible names.

All I can say: brace yourself.

The Tribes of Poptropolis: Nightcrawlers

Looking for the dirt on the next Poptropica tribe? Then you might be interested to meet…

Nightcrawlers

The Nightcrawlers might look like pushovers, but they’re used to being used as bait. Watch out they don’t hook you!

Um, no thanks.  I definitely don’t want my tribe to be worms, and worse things used as fishing bait.  So, sorry, Nightcrawlers, but you’re going to have to look somewhere else if you want someone to be in your tribe.

A Forever Black Flag

Hmm, the Creators are posting the districts excuse me, the um, tribes, for the Hunger Games, and… I did it again, didn’t I? I mean Poptropolis Games. Kay? So, the newest tribe, in addition to Seraphim and Flying Squid (what were they thinking when they named a tribe that?), is…

Drumroll please. Yess…

Give it up for…

The Tribes of Poptropica: Black Flags

The next Poptropica tribe is…
Black Flags
This tribe intends to plant the flag of victory in the heart of Poptropolis — and we suspect they’ll stop at nothing to do it!

Uh, Black Flags. Yes. This makes me think of something pirate-y. I don’t know. Like Skullduggery. But Skullduggery wasn’t exactly the best island I’ve even done. No, it was more like… Possibly Counterfeit, or Cryptids? Yes, out of all the islands, these two are my favorites! Well, what can I say, I’m a strange kiddie.

What tribe is your tribe? Personally, none of them have rung a bell to me, but if I needed to, I suppose I’d go with Seraphim, ’cause it has a cool name. I know I’ve heard the word before, but I’m not quite sure where.

Flying Squid and Seraphim

Remember a couple days ago, when the Creators showed us four tribes’ (from Poptropolis Games Island) symbols?  Well, yesterday they told us the name of one of the tribes, and, today, they told us the name of another tribe.  Of course, being the Creators, they couldn’t have made things easy on themselves and told us the names of the tribes the day that they showed us their symbols.  No, they just had to make it so that they have to post every day just to tell us the name of something.  They were perfectly capable of saving themselves some time and just telling us right out what the names of the tribes are.  …Besides, I’m getting impatient.

The Tribes of Poptropica: Flying Squid

Last week we gave you a teaser image of some of the tribes of Poptropica. This week, we’ll introduce you properly. Without further ado, say hello to…

Flying Squid

This tribe hopes to have more than an inkling of victory in the Poptropolis Games.

We’ll unveil the rest of the tribes throughout the week!

…Flying Squid?  Uh…if it’s supposed to be a flying squid, where are its wings?

The Tribes of Poptropica: Seraphim

Continuing our look at the tribes of Poptropica, say hello to…

Seraphim

This tribe will rise and fall on the wings of their dreams. Maybe you can help them achieve such great heights!

This is so going to be my tribe.  It’s got the best symbol (so far, at least), the best name (though I’m not sure what seraphim is supposed to mean), and I like the part about how the tribe “will rise and fall on the wings of their dreams”.

Hopefully the Creators will tell us some more tribe names and actually tell us about the rest of the tribes.

Until then….until then….oh, well.  Wait until my next post.  I’ll think of some cool way to end that one.

Uh…And We’re Supposed To Want Those Costumes…

I think that the Creators need a little help…  Their new costumes are getting a little bit crazy…

Before I get to that, though, there is another piece of news…the Members-Only Gear Pack for Poptropolis Island is out!

The items that you get are the Wrestling Gear Costume, the Plant-A-Statue Power, and the Discus.

Here’s what the Wrestling Gear Costume looks like:

To use the Plant-A-Statue Power, just go to your items, find the item’s card, and press the button that says “Activate”.

Then, go to where you want to plant the statue, and press the SPACEBAR.  You’ll put a statue down, and it will grow, out of the ground.  A little birdie will fly over to it and sit on it, as well.

You can also choose what color you want the statue to be by pressing the circles on the top of the item card.

To use the Discus, just go to your items, choose what color you want the Discus to be, and then activate it.

First Discus

Second Discus

Your Poptropican will get the Discus.  Just press the SPACEBAR to see the Discus soar around the room (don’t worry, though, it will fly back to your Poptropican’s hand).

Now.  For the bad news.

The Creators recently added a new costume to the Poptropican Store…and it’s not that great.  In fact, it’s pretty terrible.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll just let the picture do all the talking.

Yep.  A baby costume.  Pretty terrible right?

And, according to the post that the Creators did on the costume, you have to spend your credits to buy this costume!  I think this is getting a little crazy…

Just saying.

So, on the info page, there’s the video about Poptropolis Games Island that the Creators released yesterday.

There’s also, of course, the descriptions of the island and the members-only bonus quest.  Here’s the description of the island:

Here’s what the picture says: Once every 100 years, the ancient capital of Poptropica — Poptropolis — rises from the sea to host a tournament created to prove tribal supremacy.  Each of the tribes of Poptropica sends a representative to compete across a series of grueling events for a chance to become the Champion of Poptropica.  Do you have what it takes to vanquish the competition and win glory for your tribe?

Here’s the description of the members-only bonus quest:

Here’s what the picture says: Poptropica Members can play a bonus quest after completing the Poptropolis Games.  An ancient warrior has returned to Poptropolis to reclaim the championship for himself.  Prepare to battle the toughest competitor in the history of the Poptropolis Games!

As always, well not always, more like as recently, members get a special gear pack.

As the picture says, the special items that members get are a Wrestling Singlet costume, Plat-a-Statue power, and Discus item.

There’s also a desktop wallpaper and a printable poster that you can download on the page.

And of course, last but not least, here are some pictures of Poptropolis Games Island from the info page.

That’s it for now!  Hopefully more info about Poptropolis Games Island soon!
