All about Red Dragon Island

Sorry I haven’t been posting lately (I really need to start posting more)!  To make up for it, here are 4 posts from the Poptropica Creators’ Blog that all have at least a little bit to do with Red Dragon Island.

Memoirs of a Poptropica costume

Looking through the store, it seems there are even more Japanese-inspired costumes that can get you geared up for the upcoming launch of Red Dragon Island. This Geisha costume for girls comes with a special item.


The Shamisen is a traditional three-stringed instrument found in Japan, which is a speciality of the Geisha. Put on this costume and press the spacebar to strum your Shamisen. Then sing yourself a happy tune as you await Red Dragon Island.

Tips and Tricks for Costumes

Here is another post from Black Widow, giving you tips and tricks for your costumes, though, most of us know this already.

Costume quest

You fashionistas out there already know that there are hundreds of outfits on Poptropica that you can costumize on Islands, or buy in the Store. And there are thousands of possible costume combinations that you can put together when you combine pieces from them all.

All those accessories can be hard to hold onto. Here are a few tricks for keeping around your favorite ensembles.


The Costume Collector Gold Card is available in the Poptropica store. It’s free to use for Members, or 250 Credits for non-Members. With the Costume Collector, you can store up to three of your costumes exactly as they are, so you don’t have to worry about having to put them all together again later.

The Portrait Printer, also in the Store free for Members and 250 Credits for non-Members, lets you immortalize your greatest fashion creations on paper. You can pose your Poptropican, add one of several backgrounds, and then print it out for all to see!

Finally, all Members and non-Members with a Poptropica username can use the Avatar Studio to save a picture of their current look and share it with the world. So what are you waiting for? Get out there and play dress up!

Black Widow: Let’s go onto the next story…

Icy Comet: Next up on the Poptropica News Channel, a story about a man from Kentucky who thought he saw the Chupacabra.  Here to tell you more, Captain Crawfish!

Captain Crawfish: Well first of, if you don’t know what the Chupacabra is, I would suggest reading this, so you understand the story better.  But read it fast, I haven’t got all day!  Now, if you are done reading that, here is the story:

Cryptids in the news!

Did you hear the news? A couple weeks ago, a man in Kentucky saw a strange creature running around his farm at night. He shot and killed it, and discovered a bizarre, hairless creature with a pointed snout that walked on four legs.

Well, some people thought this might have been proof of the chupacabra — not that the man had had any bloodless goats turn up on his farm recently.

Unfortunately for monster hunters, a wildlife biologist examined the body and determined that the creature was probably a raccoon suffering from a disease that had caused all its hair to fall out. Oh well. The chupacabra may still be hiding somewhere out there!

The Creators have been really busy making new stuff for Poptropica, a perfect example would be the new game cards that they just made.  Here’s the post that Black Widow did telling you all about these new cards.

If you’ve been to a Target store recently, you might have seen something interesting in the electronics section. Something that looks a little like this:

Introducing the Poptropica Game Card! Poptropica Members can use Game Cards to extend their existing Memberships by 10 weeks. Non-Members can use them either for a new 10-week Membership, or 1,000 Credits to use in the Poptropica Store. Either way, you win!
Poptropica Game Cards are available now at Target, and are coming soon to many other retailers. You know, the holidays are right around the corner…
