Oh, the Leg Bone’s Connected to the Hip Bone…

…And that’s the only part of that song that I know.  …I don’t even know if I got that part right…  Oh, well.

There’s a new costume/power available just in time for Halloween in the Poptropica Store!  Get ready to start singing “the leg bone’s connected to the hip bone” with me when you wear the Skeleton Power.

As you can see from the picture above, there are two buttons that you can press.  The first one is the “I’m A Skeleton” button.  If you press that, you turn into a skeleton.  I know, surprising, right?

A skeleton with eyelashes… Somehow that doesn’t fit.

The second button is the “I See Skeletons” button.  That one will turn everyone around you into a skeleton.

There’s only one problem…  I couldn’t find a way to undo the “I’m A Skeleton” part, so I clicked on the customize button and clicked on my skull and skeleton body-suit thing, and this is what I was left with…

Uh… Where’s my hair?

Before I leave to fix this costume crisis that I have on my hands, I just wanted to let you know about a small little change in the Poptropica Store.  All the Halloween-related costumes have been moved to the front of the store.  So, instead of seeing a baby costume as the first thing in the line of costumes, you’ll see something like the Bride of Frankenstein or the Swamp Monster costumes toward the front, instead.  It’s probably only temporary for Halloween, though.

Well, I’m off to go see if I can find my hair.  I hope you have more luck with the Skeleton Power than I did!

Almost Here and Almost Gone

Tomorrow is July 18th.  Do you know what that means?

No, it’s not my birthday.

No, it’s not your birthday.

Might as well tell you…

…Tomorrow is the day that Wimpy Boardwalk comes out for non-members!

But, with the arrival of Wimpy Boardwalk comes the departure of something else.

Life’s a beach

It’s a bittersweet occasion when an Island becomes available to everyone. Sweet, because — well, obviously because everyone can play! Bitter, because it means that some of the Members-only items for that Island are gone for good. That’s the case with the exclusive “Beachgoer” costume on Wimpy Boardwalk. Time is running out to get it!

Poptropica Members can get their Beachgoer costume for the next few days. Better act fast, because once it’s gone, it’s gone! (The Beach Umbrella and Heat Wave power will remain in the store.)

Wimpy Boardwalk will be available to everyone this Thursday, July 18. Watch this blog for the official announcement!

Cry your hearts out, Creators.  I don’t think that anybody’s going to buy membership just for that costume.

What’s that you say?  That membership pays Poptropica’s bills?  And without it you would have to shut Poptropica down and go out of business?

*yells*  EVERYBODY GO OUT AND BUY MEMBERSHIP!!!

Big Bang for the Fourth

The Fourth of July is getting closer and closer.  And what better way to celebrate than to make a lot of noise and light up the sky with a lot of different colors?

Sis boom bah!

Independence Day is next week, and you know what that means: fireworks! If you’re itching to get started on the skyrockets a little early, check out the Fireworks in the Poptropica Store. You can plant these festive rockets anywhere on Poptropica, and watch them explode across the sky!

I hope that everyone in America (myself included) has an amazing Fourth of July!  I hope you all have lots of fun!

Uh…And We’re Supposed To Want Those Costumes…

I think that the Creators need a little help…  Their new costumes are getting a little bit crazy…

Before I get to that, though, there is another piece of news…the Members-Only Gear Pack for Poptropolis Island is out!

The items that you get are the Wrestling Gear Costume, the Plant-A-Statue Power, and the Discus.

Here’s what the Wrestling Gear Costume looks like:

To use the Plant-A-Statue Power, just go to your items, find the item’s card, and press the button that says “Activate”.

Then, go to where you want to plant the statue, and press the SPACEBAR.  You’ll put a statue down, and it will grow, out of the ground.  A little birdie will fly over to it and sit on it, as well.

You can also choose what color you want the statue to be by pressing the circles on the top of the item card.

To use the Discus, just go to your items, choose what color you want the Discus to be, and then activate it.

First Discus

Second Discus

Your Poptropican will get the Discus.  Just press the SPACEBAR to see the Discus soar around the room (don’t worry, though, it will fly back to your Poptropican’s hand).

Now.  For the bad news.

The Creators recently added a new costume to the Poptropican Store…and it’s not that great.  In fact, it’s pretty terrible.

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I’ll just let the picture do all the talking.

Yep.  A baby costume.  Pretty terrible right?

And, according to the post that the Creators did on the costume, you have to spend your credits to buy this costume!  I think this is getting a little crazy…

Just saying.

A Costume, a Troll, and a Dryad

In case you haven’t heard, the Creators have announced that Twisted Thicket Island comes out next week on the 12th.

So, even though the island doesn’t come out until next week, the Creators have decided to break some rules and give members the Lumberjerk Costume, the Troll power, and the Dryad Follower a little early.

Twisted Thicket items now available in the Poptropica Store!

Poptropica Members may have another week to wait before you can play Twisted Thicket, but you can visit the Poptropica Store right now to pick up your exclusive Twisted Thicket gear! These new items include a Lumberjerk costume, a Troll look and power, and a Dryad follower.

All of these exciting Gold Cards are available for Poptropica Members, but you’ll have to act fast — the Lumberjerk costumes will only be available until the end of Early Access!

If you’re a non-member, you can relax.  The only thing you should really be jealous about in that pack of items is the Dryad Follower.  The rest is, well, okay…just okay.

In other news, the case of the missing countdown timer has been solved!  (If you have no idea what I’m talking about, just go to this post.  Oh, and start reading this blog more often. 😉 )  The timer has now been added to Poptropica’s homepage!

But, that’s not the only thing that has been added to Poptropica’s homepage.  This little icon was added, too.

Okay, non-members, now you can be jealous.  Yep, I was right when I thought that we would have to wait forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever for it to come out for everyone.

Now I Nose I Don’t Have To Worry

So, yeah, you probably know about the Creators, should I say, failed, attempt at an April Fool’s joke yesterday.  They should know that we don’t fool that easily.

But for those of us who worry way too much even when there’s nothing to worry about (me!), you can now relax, because not only did we wake up to find that our Poptropicans’ faces were still noseless, the Creators have now announced that it was an April Fool’s joke.

No need to run from these noses

Well, most of you caught our little April Fools’ joke over the weekend. We aren’t adding noses to Poptropicans. Everyone would look too weird!

But there was a grain of truth in our gag. Now, you can get a fake nose in the Poptropica Store!

Fortunately, these Poptropican noses are optional, not mandatory. So visit the Poptropica Store today to get your fake nose — and get a jump on next year’s April Fools’ Day!

Here’s what each of the noses looks like:

The Red Fake Nose

The Purple Fake Nose

And The Green Fake Nose

Now I bet I know what you’re probably thinking right about now.  You’re probably saying now really, the Creators really wouldn’t expect us to pay credits for a fake nose would they?!?!  And there hasn’t been a free thing in Poptropica in, like, ages!  They have to make this free.  Well think again.  Yep.  The Creators are making us pay for a fake nose.  Don’t believe me?  Here’s a picture:

Forget about not being able to dress up as food for free, this is ridiculous!  You can’t even get a pair of horrible looking plastic glasses with a fake mustache and nose attached anymore!  I’m gonna go over to the Creators and…and…and I don’t know what I would do.  But I’d do something!

Well, that’s the end of this post.  I’ll see you who knows when, because first I have to plan how to get back at the Creators for this!

A New Island With a Strange Name And a Costume for You Pie Lovers

The Creators have finally announced what the new island is going to be called.  And before I tell you, let me just say that this island wins the prize for weirdest island name ever.

You ready to hear what it is called?  You’re never going to be able to guess!  Okay, here it is………

The

New

Poptropica Island

Is Called…

Twisted Thicket Island!

Sorry if you had to scroll down a lot to read that!  I was just excitedHere’s what the Creators have to say about Twisted Thicket Island:

Announcing the next Poptropica Island!

We’re pleased to announce the next Poptropica Island: Twisted Thicket!

Twisted Thicket is a journey into the heart of an enchanted forest. Who knows what dangers await? We’ll have much more information about this new adventure soon!

CAPTAIN CRAWFISH

Hopefully we’ll learn more about Twisted Thicket Island soon!

Next up is something that I’m sure you pie freaks who go around saying “I like pie!” all the time will like.

There are three new costumes in the Poptropica Store, but they’re not just any costumes.  Although I don’t personally like them, I’m sure that there’s somebody out there who will like them…somewhere…

Happy Pi Day!

Today, 3/14, is also known as “Pi Day,” because the famous number Pi starts with the digits 3.14. Pi is important for a lot of reasons, one of which is that it allows you to calculate the area of a circle.

But there’s another kind of circular pie we like even more, and that’s why we’ve just released three new costumes to the Poptropica Store. Pick your choice of Cherry Pie, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Mud Pie to show your pride this Pi Day.

Visit Poptropica now to get your pie costumes!

Here are some pictures of the costumes:

There’s just one think I don’t understand.  Why is there “Sweet as Pie” in the costumes title?  I mean, that’s not an expression or anything.  Or is it?

Edit: Here’s a picture from the Poptropica Homepage that for some reason, no idea why, looks really funny to me.

Poptropica Can be Shamrocky, But McDonalds Can’t?

Latest Shamrock Shake:

Better, but not minty enough.

Anyway, thanks to Mighty Drummer for pointing this out to me: 2 new items in the Shamtropica… I mean, Poptropica Store!

Ha, I scored a shut-eye picture! So, that’s the costume, but there’s another new item!

Gum! Is it minty? Because I need to replace Shamrock Shakes.

So what do you think of the new items? Have the Creators made a spectacular addition to the Shamtropica… I mean, Poptropica (I’m hungry, okay?) store, or has it been an epic fail?

~Shamrock, I mean, Super Thunder

Football Gear…

Let’s see… I’ve got my helmet and…and I just realized how little I know about what you wear for football.  But, it doesn’t matter, because with the American Football Player costume you get all the necessary gear without having to try and understand any of it.

Guess the Creators really like football, because they’ve moved the American Football Player costume to the front of the Poptropica Store.

Get ready for kick-off!

In honor of the big game this weekend, we’ve moved one of our classic costumes to the front of the Poptropica Store.

No matter who wins on Sunday, your outfit will be championship caliber when you don these duds!

The American Football Player costume can be costumized in your choice of four colors. Why would you want a blue helmet, though? Silver is MUCH better!

There are two new Christmas-themed things in the Poptropica Store.

The first thing is the Elf Costume.

Here is what the Elf Costume looks like for girls:

Here is what the Elf Costume looks like for boys:

The second thing is an item called Candy Cane-on.

Here is what it looks like:
